Shopping in Tenerife

The island of Tenerife can be considered a massive duty-free zone, as products here are not subject to VAT. This makes Tenerife a shopping paradise, where you can find items at lower prices than in many other parts of the world.

The best shopping centers are located in the northern areas, particularly in Santa Cruz, as well as in Playa de Las Américas and Costa Adeje. While shops in tourist-filled resorts stay open all day, those outside the resorts strictly observe siesta hours, typically between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM.
